Evaluation Activity 7

 Looking back on the preliminary task i feel that i have progressed a lot with understand the types of shot to use and how to use them and to keep continuity throughout otherwise it is noticeable and will look bad on the film.

 I Feel that i have learnt when to use the match on action shots to good affect and to edit it correctly so that you cannot see the difference which is what happened during the preliminary task when Alex reached for the handle he re-reached for it again when we went to do the match on action. Where as in the final product we did it well and made sure that this mistake didn't happen again.

I Also learnt how to use the 180 degree rule i feel that we used it effective in both the preliminary task and in the final task because we did it right keeping to the rules of the 180 degree rule.

I finally learnt how to use the shot reverse shot which i feel that i am good at which we have used well in both of the tasks set.
I learnt how to use the camera to good use by learning these techniques and camera work with different shots like over-the-shoulder shots and using various other shots like close ups to good effect in the right situations.

Evaluation Activity 6

Camera: we used this camera for our media film.This camera is small and easy to use with decent quality for the task given and easy to have in all situations for our film this camera ended up producing good enough quality film. I feel that as a handheld camera it is very good .

 

Tripod: We also used a tripod for the making of our opening 2 minutes. We used this because it means that we can have a clearer film without any shakes if we just held it so the tripod was simple and easy to use.

Computer: We used a computer as well for various tasks as well using software like adobe premiere elements for the editing of our 2 minutes and Photoshop for the title shot, We have a few problems with our computer with the software constantly shutting down which was soon resolved and we could finish making out film. 

Evaluation task 1

These are the nine frame i have used because i think they are very distinctive frame throughout our film.   

Shot 1: I think that this shot is very typical in the superhero comedy genre films because it shows a punch with an actors name going over it so i think this shot is good.

Shot 2: I feel that this shot is very distinctive because it shows the evil villain doing a sign but its not very typical showing the villain in the opening 2 minutes.

Shot 3: This shot is an over-the-shoulder shot of the two hero's watching the news i think this is a very typical shot of an opening two minutes of the genre we are going for because it shows the two heroes together as mates watching television showing a close bond.

Shot 4: This shot is also an Over-the-shoulder shot with the same type as effect as shot 3 because it shows the two heroes bonding and having a conversation

Shot 5: This shot is highlighting the shot reverse shot use between shot 4 and this shot with the two heroes having a conversation.

Shot 6: This is a close up of one of the heroes hand reaching for the door handle to use the match-on-action technique which stood out for me watching the film.

Shot 7 : This shot stood out the most for me because it has the text in the top left corner saying ' The news:New evil villain ' and has a shot of the villain with the hood up and head down showing how mysterious he is but this shot is typical showing a threat on television that the heroes don't think they will encounter normally .   

Shot 8:This shot is of Alex playing one of the heroes as this links with shot 6 being a match-on-action shot.

Shot 9: This is the title shot of our film which stood out with the feel that it will be a film with action at the end of the 2 minutes.           

Evaluation Activity 4

This target audience would watch our film because of the type of music they would listen to is up tempo which is like the beginning  of our film with the film 4 ident. They would also like our film because they like superhero's like Batman and Spider man so a new superhero film would interest them. They also like comedy films and our film is a mix of comedy and action with superheros so would interest them very much because this is what they like. The target audience likes roles models the comedy with the awkward moments and the type of comedy this film has an i feel we have the same type of comedy film in our film.

 This is our final film with annotations throughout to explain how we attracted our target audience and to explain what is going on.

Evaluation Activity 2

This is a shot of both Alex Valente and Christian Bale. 

Similarities: Both of these play lead roles in their films because Alex plays the main superhero but we don't see who exactly he is in the opening two minutes. Christian Bale who plays Bruce Wayne in the Batman films doesn't know who is going to turn out until he realizes he needs to save society.

Both play very hidden and mysterious roles in their films and want to do well for society and not link back to their real lives.

Their appearance is very similar with the rough look but looked after.

Differences: Alex has a sidekick  where as Batman works alone with his gadgets so that if someone gets hurt it would be him because he put himself in that situation.

Alex has a known enemy from the start after seeing the news , where as Batman after seeing the death of his parents decides he will safe society. In our film Alex is shown as mysterious and we don't know anything about him other than he likes a random joke and he watches the news where as Batman has to go into depth about himself to have a villain

We have chosen to go for this film 4 ident because film 4 are into our type of film which would be low budget and low level a British for example they also did the kings speech. it also gives the audience something to think about the type of film that will appear, but we are going to have some upbeat tempo music over this because this is quite a long clip and our target audience would like action upbeat music.

Treatment

1^st the beginning- in the start of our film Red tornado we established the two hero’s and why he is a villain for. In the opening the hero’s Conor and Alex are just regular people. They see the villain Steve on the news and are disgusted. The next day Alex was walking to Conors ‘The hawks nest’ as he is walking there he is beaten up by Steve then villain. He then walks to conor all bruised a bleeding walks into Conor’s room outraged and wanting revenge.

2^nd Middle – The Two hero’s plot there revenge with their new costumes which look like wannabe heroes. As they are plotting their revenge they are troubled about how to get Steve back but one day Conor was watching jimmy neutron followed by fairly odd parents and he suddenly comes up with a cunning plan to get Steve back to what he has done to Alex/ He runs to Alex’s to tell him the great news.

3^rd End –The two heroes now have their plan set out and their all geared up in costume to get Steve back. They set off and prank call Steve pretending to be Stanley his useless sidekick for another new feed to the area but they trap him in a parking lot on the top of Sainsbury’s. They start to chase Steve but soon catch up and are forced to fight, slaps are thrown left right and centre between the three of them until the mighty battle has ended because of Steve running of crying to his mum. In the end the infamous duo of red tornado prevails.



I think that our treatment is good because it is a simple explination of what happens throughtout our film in enough detail so if a person read it they would understand what the film is about and who and what the characters are about.

Script

Stanley: 3..2..1..action...i said action..steve!

Steve: oh sorry anyways im going to destroy your towns and everything you know no one can do anything about it and no one can stop me!!!

Stanley: What about your mum?

Steve: shut up stanley!! Anyway yeah im gonna destroy your towns and everything you know no one can do anything about it and no one can stop me!!! Not even my mum...actually yeah my mum could. My name yes...my name is hmmmmm the critical eye.



CONOR: OMG I JUST GOT COLLATED!!!!

ALEX: CONOR JUST GO GET A LIFE MATE!!

CONOR: IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT GET OUT OF THE HAWKS NEST kaka kaka

ALEX: look conor I have been beaten up on my way to your ‘nest’

Conor: are you alright mate? We need to do something about this?

This is our script for the opening two minutes it is a little short but i think it is good because it gets the message across to the audience that the heros are seeking revenge for what steve (sam) has done.

Story board

Our story board is very simple but i believe effective because it gets the message across of what it is about which is a comedy about two ordinary people that like many other after a bad experience with a bad guy want to seek revenge and serve justice.

This is going to be in our title sequence this shows that there will be some action because of the picture the name shows that it is an action hero/villain but it also looks like a comic book strip going back to marvel but the bad thing with this is that you cannot tell that it could be a comedy although it will come across in the opening 2minutes that it is serious but then will take a change to comedy, hopefully this will take the audience by surprise that it looks serious but it actually a comedy.

Our preliminary task i think was good but there are a few faults with this clip but first of all we show different shot types and display them well even though we did find this task a bit tough because we only had the two of us when it came to find the over-the-shoulder shot for the shot reverse shot part of the clip we had to edit that part so the audience couldnt see that i had reached round twice to clip for the camera to play and for it to stop. When alex reaches to turn the door handle he touches it and turns it but to show the match on action he should have just reached for it and not touched it becuase in the close up of the shot he has re-reaches for the handle but we make up for this doing match on action in the next shot when alex opens the door then the shot on the inside as he comes into the room.We also apply the 180 degree rule quite well i think. i think this clip needs improvements but overall is a good attempt.
